Visa: Visitors to El Salvador require a valid passport and a tourist card. Visas are required except for citizens of the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. Multiple-entry visas are available at Salvadoran consulates and remain valid for one year less than the life of your passport. Business visas require an invitation from a Salvadoran company or government agency along with a photo of the visitor. The application for business visas take only about 48 hours to issue. Tourist visas take two weeks to process. All visas may be renewed at the Office of Immigration in El Salvador. There are no airport visas available for last-minute entry.
